Description
The Gateway facility is a referral management & triaging service.

All new external referrals to the Care Trust will be received by the Gateway facility where the referrals will be logged prior to being directed to the appropriate services under the GMMH for allocation.


The Gateway Administrator will provide comprehensive support for all functions of the Gateway within Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust.

This will include liaison with GP's, other external referrers and colleagues within the Care Trust.

The post holder will be involved in the processing of received from a variety of external referrers and where appropriate pass onto clerical staff for onward allocation.

To support allocation and acknowledgement of referrals within the team in the absence of the senior staff.

  • Check personal service user information for accuracy and to update the EPR system including checking for duplicate records. To ensure that the information held is good quality data for use for quality improvement and performance purposes to provide high level of service user care.
  • To provide cover for other administrative support, where required.
  • To maintain high standards regarding the Health and Safety of all persons as stated in Trust Policy.
  • To ensure compliance with Trust Policy of Equality and Diversity, Data Protection Act, Information Governance and Caldicott
  • Routine processing of letters ensuring Trusts and departmental deadlines are met.
