    The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) champions the power of planning in creating prosperous places and vibrant communities. We represent over 27,000 members worldwide, supporting them throughout their careers. We shape planning policy, raise professional standards and are the only body in the UK to confer Chartered status to planners, the highest professional qualification.

    The research team at the RTPI has three main areas of work:

    1. Commissioning fresh research to support planners, shape policy formation and promote the value of the profession;
    2. Supports and advises the planning research community, both university-based and in planning practice;
    3. Represents the RTPI in its Learned Society function of promoting the academic discipline of urban planning

    We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a wide ranging interest in urban planning and related fields. The main responsibility of the role relates to point 2 above: you will also act as a 'knowledge broker' between academic researchers and planning practitioners. You will also conduct research and analysis, and will help to manage and support commissioned research projects and programmes.
