    Description

    Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for Principal and Senior CS&A Engineers with a background in the nuclear sector to be engaged on a long-term contract or permanent basis in the North West with Hybrid working (Cumbria, Warrington or Preston).


    Role & ResponsibilitiesnAct as the project's single point of authority and accountability for the CS&A engineering disciplinenDependent on project scope, lead a multi-disciplined engineering team reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the clients responsible engineering team.nResponsible for the development of key CS&A design deliverablesnChecking and Approval of calculationsnEnsure that design deliverables are of a high standard and compliant with relevant standards, regulations and customer specific standards.nEnsuring that design consultants and sub-contractors deploy suitably qualified and experienced personnel.nProduction of documentation that is technically accurate, grammatically correct, correctly formatted and professionally presentednPreparing and reviewing quality plans for multi or single discipline work packagesnEnsure work delivered is within the defined scope and completed to time and budget.nManage resolutions to technical issues and ensure necessary change control is implemented and address commercial impacts.nEnsure designs are compliant with CDM regulations and have designer responsibility under CDMnPresent CS&A engineering designs to clients and key stakeholders who may be discipline experts or non-discipline related.nPresent technical solutions at design reviews and HAZOPsnProduction and checking of safety related documents such as Hazard Management Strategy and Engineering Substantiation / Justifications Report.nDevelop estimates, define deliverables, clarify scope/exclusions and develop programme logic at bid / tender stages.

    nMentor a team of engineers/designers to improve their own skill sets and enhance the company's capabilitiesnDevelop and manage/maintain good working relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organisations

    The individual:

    nBachelor's degree or highernChartered Member of the ICEnMust be legally eligible to work in the UKnIdeally 5+ years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectornDetailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be appliednProven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of CS&A designnStrong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipmentnBroad experience of civil construction and construction management.
