Our client seeks a Head of Compliance and Risk to join their teamKey Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Compliance and Risk functions of the Group, across all jurisdictions.
- Act as MLRO.
- Detailed working knowledge of relevant law, regulations and guidelines impacting the Group in all the jurisdictions that it operates, providing support to the Group Boards.
- Develop and enhance internal risk and compliance processes and procedures.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships, trust and credibility both internally and externally.
- Internal training on compliance issues including AML training across the Group.
- Handle complaints ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Conduct risk assessments, file reviews and evaluate proposed new business.
- Review, maintain, enhance and test documented policies & procedures and ensure staff accessibility and awareness at all times.
- Automatic exchange of information working with existing staff on FATCA and CRS classification & reporting programme.
- Data Protection working with the Data Protection Officer and assisting with adoption & ongoing integration of GDPR regulation.
- Assist the Board of Directors in relation to group compliance strategy, policies and procedures.
- Implement and oversee relevant compliance technology solutions.
- Assisting in the maintenance of the Compliance Calendar and ensuring reporting and submissions are timely, effective and accurate.
- Review and support signoff of product literature / communications.
- Provide support in the analysis and communication of consultation papers, thematic reviews and other developments.
- Regulatory horizon scanning for key developments. Consider requirements and lead response.
Key Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years AML, risk and compliance related experience in a senior role, preferably in a Financial or TCSP environment.
- Hold or be working towards a professional compliance / AML / legal qualification (e.g. ICA, CISI or equivalent).
- Effective communicator at all levels (verbal and written).
- Have proven organisational skills, an investigative mindset, and the ability to successfully balance multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Actively contribute to the daytoday activities of the Compliance Team, in line with the overarching objectives of the Board and associated Risk, Compliance and Technical Sub-Committees.
- To assist and maintain an effective and fit for purpose compliance framework, which guides and defines organisational behaviours, provides a clear context for business decisionmaking and positively influences the performance of functional and operational activities.
- Proactively maintain adequate, effective, and auditable policies, procedures, reporting mechanisms and training materials.
- To assist and deliver a compliance programme which helps to ensure positive outcomes by analysing processes, behaviours and procedures and proposing and implementing effective change.
- Ability to understand and interpret legal and contractual documentation.
- Proven track record of thoughtleadership, people management and development.
Essential Requisites:
- Knowledge of local or similar (UK, Channel Islands) regulations and requirements (ideally IOM).
- Proven experience in a senior risk, regulatory and compliance role.
- Holds or working towards a recognised professional qualification related to the position.
- Effective communicator at all levels including technical committees, board and regulators.
- Organised and able to balance multiple priorities in a busy and challenging environment.
- Strong decision making and investigative skills.
- Comfortable in challenging, questioning and rationalising decisions / processes.

Pay:
£65,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
