As a Barclays Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for defining group wide technology architecture, vision and capability to satisfy a variety of functional possibilities.

You will use enterprise architecture techniques, focusing on business outcomes,in conjunction with respective CTO, CIO, Business Architects and business stakeholders, to translate strategic business and technological goals.

What will you be doing?:


  • Creating target and transition architectures that enable the organisation to successfully pursue and realise business strategy
  • Defining architectural roadmaps that guide the organisation on how to efficiently transition to target state
  • Facilitating decision making and arbitration relating to tradeoffs both within and between different solution platforms
  • Supporting architects and engineers in ensuring project deliveries align to strategy and roadmaps
  • Identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation and reuse across the technology estate, enabling increases in operational efficiency
  • Undertaking technical evaluation of partnerships, 3rd party vendors and technologies
  • Communicating technology strategy and architecture to the wider technical community
  • Collaborating with other Business Unit CTOs to drive the Group wide standards on design and architecture

What we're looking for:


  • A technology professional with the ability to build trusted relationships with business, COO and CIO stakeholders
  • Defining reusable solutions and architecture across disparate technologies that resolve complex business issues with simple and costeffective solutions
  • Experience of working with large and complex change programmes/environments
  • Ability to deal with issues in a positive and constructive manner

  • Ability to bring together colleagues to find the right technological solution for the business

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.

The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.

The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful greenenvironment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
