We have an amazing opportunity for you to become a Personal Assistant to a student beginning their university journey studying
Mathematics at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

Our client's has Cerebral Palsy and they are a full-time electric wheel chair user.

This does not prevent them from enjoying hobbies such as watching sports, playing chess, completing puzzles and listening to Hip Hop.

Overall they are very friendly and thoughtful towards others.

You will provide our client with health and social care. This is also a "flatmate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect from life, like getting out and about to see friends, going to parties, going on holiday after graduation and much more

Weekly live-in rota: 7 days on and 7 days off or a similar arrangement.

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

Duties will include

Personal care, academic and social support;
Work with the team to ensure information and issues arising during your shift are correctly reported and followed up;
Assist the student with administration tasks as required;
Assist in emergency evacuations in halls, if the situation arises, as instructed by the halls manager;
Encourage the student to engage in clubs/activities and societies;
Maintain good order, appearance and behaviour.
Assist the student with the organisation of events and extracurricular activities.

About You:

For this role, we are looking for a person who is physically fit, calm, patient and caring

Additionally, they will:

Possess great organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative
A mature and responsible attitude
Great communication skills
To be fluent in English.
To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.
A full clean UK driving licence (Desirable)

Salary, Benefits & Hours:

Live In - £170 per day / £1,190 per week

Rota - 1 week on 1 week off

Emmanuel College Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Free accommodation when on shift.
5.6 weeks holiday pro rata.

All applicants must be prepared to undergo screening to confirm their suitability to work with a disabled young person. We have various positions throughout the UK with a range of start dates from September 2023 to December 2023.
