Change & Engage Manager (C&E): PPD Project Delivery

Organization and Team Description:


A Global Energy Company is an energy trading operation that combines a global network of trading companies, with shipping and maritime capabilities, and an integrated network of supply and distribution activities.

The Commercial Operations organization works in partnership with T&S to deliver capabilities that enable them to run the business, as well as build capabilities that change the business.

Programme Project Delivery (PPD) sit in Commercial Operations and add value by:
Supporting T&S with cross business line Programme, Project, PMO, Assurance and Change management
Delivering a methodology that enables effective Programme, Project, PMO, delivery and embeds change
Acting as the custodian of the overall Programme and Project agenda for T&S, enabling prioritisation activity and cross business line stakeholder alignment
The portfolio of projects is diverse and varies in scale and complexity. Current Programmes/Projects span Risk, Compliance, Process, Data & Systems. However, the portfolio is expected to evolve to meet the demands of Progress Strategy.

The PPD team are a new, highly driven team of Project management and PMO experts focused on delivering real solutions, that add business value and help drive the T&S agenda forward.


Purpose and Accountabilities:


As a Change & Engage (C&E) Manager, you are expected to deliver the tactical change activities for either a single or a portfolio of projects.

Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery for Trading & Supply, the C&E Manager has responsibility for:
Defining the Change strategy.

Supporting PMs to scope the tactical change activities that will enable the strategy to be realised and executing those activities.

Advocating for the change and acting as a support system for those who are delivering or are being impacted by the change, to ensure that the change is understood and fully embedded into BAU.

Acting as the custodian of the Change Management Approach within PPD ensuring the existing approach is relevant, adapted and continually evolved.

Includes, coaching and guiding project managers on Change Management within PPD.
The Change & Engage Manager will be expected to develop and deliver:
The Change strategy.

Stakeholder assessment and engagement plan understand who the key stakeholders are and identify the most appropriate engagement channels & cadence to enable effective change delivery.

The case for change - drive clarity and alignment on why the change is needed.

Impact assessment - deliver a detailed assessment of the process, people, behavioural and organisational impacts the project will have on key stakeholder groups, and/or wider organization.

Change interventions identify and execute change interventions that will enable impacted groups to successfully adapt to change.

Change Planning - Actively plan and agree when change interventions will be delivered, who will support their delivery, how and when.

Success metrics define the success criteria to help motivate the change and measure its success.

Change materials translate the change plan and interventions into materials that will effectively inform and/or change behaviour of the impacted stakeholders e.g., Quick reference guides, Frequently Asked Questions.

Business readiness shape organisational and individual change readiness criteria and use it to determine if the right conditions are in place to successfully go-live.

Define and execute on actions to close gaps.

Measure:

Gap analysis - assess whether the project has delivered against the success metrics and define and execute on actions to close gaps.

Partner with Project/Programme Manager to manage stakeholder relationship and ensure change activity is embedded and accurately sequenced in the project plan.

Act as the custodian of the voice of key / impacted stakeholders, to ensure appropriate joined up engagement of them and feedback loops across all project activity.

Prepare materials for Steering Committee meetings and represent all change activity.

Prepare and share reports and updates to monitor progress, flagging any issues or blockers that may impact timescales or success.

Team - Maintain a collaborative working environment where the team is motivated to deliver and actively develop the culture of a high performing team.

Coaching & development no direct reports but expected to coach and guide project managers on Change Management within the project delivery organisation.
