The Role
The IT Support Technician will be integral to the IT Department, helping to support the technical aspect of business life.
Duties
- Effectively handling ticket requests being received by our IT service desk.
- Providing daytoday IT support to students and staff.
- Relocating equipment around the classrooms and schools.
- Setting up new hardware like desktops, laptops, and other similar end user devices.
- Any network patching, and network related issues.
- The AV equipment, and any other IT related equipment required for classes.
- Setting up the rooms and equipment for exams periods.
- Server Management including Windows Server and VMware.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- 12 years' experience working in a busy IT helpdesk support role or similar.
- An ability to relate well to staff and students and other users, with good customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively, working closely with the team handling tickets requests and managing daytoday communications.
- Being able to identify and prioritise yourself between incidents and change control requests.
- Successful implementation of technology with a 'handson', daybyday approach.
- An understanding and commitment to adhering to school policy on safeguarding.
- Expert understanding of Window 10, Mac OSX, iOS, Android and Chromebook operating systems & devices.
- Installing, Repairing, Upgrading and deploying various OS's, programs & equipment.
- Basic understanding on patching, connecting devices to a network and patch panels.
- Must be able to lift and move computers and monitors and equipment.
- Be loyal, honest, trustworthy and reliable
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated and wellorganised
- Confident, proactive with a helpful and flexible approach
- Able to demonstrate initiative and creativity
- Ability to work well in a team and alone, with minimum supervision, maintaining a professional and enthusiastic approach

- Strong desire to improve knowledge

Experience of the following:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory (Common admin tasks).
- Group Policy.
- SCCM and/or PDQ Deployment.
- MS SQL.
- VOIP phones and call manager.
- Veeam Backup and Replication.
- VMWare vSphere 6 and above.
- Fortinet UTM products.
- Sophos Enterprise and cloud products.
- Extreme and HP networking.
- HP and Dell server and workstation hardware.
- Windows and Papercut print management.
- Network scanning products.
- MS Teams, Google Classroom, Hangouts and Zoom.
- Exposure to Google Gsuite and M36
- Linux servers exposure.
