We are looking to recruit an experienced Head of People Strategy & Projects to lead on some of the following key areas:

  • The review, development and publication of all HR policies, procedures and processes ensuring that these are congruent with our new values and behaviours and drive a One Lambeth culture.
  • Build the knowledge, skills and confidence of our people management to deal with performance issues at the earliest opportunity, working alongside the Employee Experience and OD team.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Trade Unions to ensure effective implementation of these policies and to drive our values and behaviours throughout the organisation.
  • Develop and deliver the Councils Reward Strategy working in partnership with others in the team and wider functions such as payroll, finance, communications, and transformation.
  • The research, development and recommendation of revised terms and conditions of employment and enhancing the experience of the workforce.
  • Lead, motivate and developing members of the team to deliver their very best work.


You will come with a strong background in delivering customer focussed policies and procedures that are aligned to corporate strategy whilst demonstrating your exceptional stakeholder management skills particularly when working with Trade Unions on complex matters.


It is essential that you come with a comprehensive knowledge of employment law and employee relations/organisational development matters and experience of translating these into effective advice, policy, and practice.

Knowledge and experience of dealing with issues of equality, diversity as part of the role is essential.

In addition, you will bring experience in reviewing and bench marking terms and conditions of employment with a strong ability to collect, analyse and present detailed and complex information to varying audiences.
