THE ROLE
Insolvency Assistant
- Glasgow
- Managing a portfolio of insolvency cases that will involve assisting in the preparation of reports to banks and creditors.
- Where necessary, participating in meetings with bankrupt/company directors and creditors.
- Where necessary, conducting meetings with clients.
- Liaising with Court Officials, Creditors, Debtors and Financial Institutions via telephone, correspondence and in person.
- Anti-Money Laundering and Client Take on tasks, understanding of Smartsearch beneficial but not essential
- Maintain pending case files before conversion to an insolvency appointment
- Prepare and issue bank letters and other initial correspondence for new insolvency cases
- Specific insolvency case related tasks if time critical
- Other insolvency case work prepare cheque requests and pay ins when required, add creditors and employees to IPS, open new cases on case management system, IPS.
- Previous experience of IPS beneficial but not essential
- Inventory of insolvency cases books and records and send to confidential storage
- Deal with closed cases to ensure all matters dealt with, update checklists and send to store
- Storage of books and records
- Be contact for liaison with Restore. Deal with all invoices, destruction authorisations, box recalls etc, attend to all Restore correspondence for account, maintain spreadsheets for books & records and closed cases. Query invoices and manage items at Restore for GDPR purposes
- Market share analysis via Register of Insolvencies and the Edinburgh Gazette for personal and corporate cases
- Arrange couriers for court reports and other insolvency case related matters
- Convert bank statements using AutoEntry software for detailed bank analysis. Experience of AutoEntry software is beneficial but not essential.
Experience and skill set required for the role:
- Experience in a similar role supporting insolvency cases
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Attention to detail
