Key Responsibilities and Performance Indicators

  • Stand out to offer customers a welcoming presence as they start their shopping journey
  • Warmly greet customers at the store entrance, using various techniques to prevent theft
  • Be adaptable to assist in different store sections such as Foods, C&H, and Operations
  • Stay informed about the store, promote key marketing messages, new products, and common inquiries
  • Guide customers around the store, recognizing when they need assistance and providing the right level of support
  • Express gratitude to customers as they leave the store
  • Handle retail situations calmly and empathetically, even in challenging circumstances
  • Respond to door alarms politely, resolving any customer concerns
  • Act as a visible deterrent against violence, anti-social behavior, theft, and criminal activities to ensure a safe shopping environment
  • Identify and monitor suspicious individuals or activities and take necessary actions to prevent issues
  • Report all incidents through the M&S Incident reporting process and involve the police when needed
  • Prevent trespassers from re-entering the premises
  • Carry a store radio and collaborate with law enforcement and security personnel to enhance M&S service
  • Apprehend external thieves following business guidelines and report internal theft incidents

  • Excellent communication skills to engage customers effectively
  • Ability to stay focused on customer interactions and deter suspicious behavior

  • No license required, but strong observational skills are advantageous
