Your new role:

Duties

:


As a Pre-Construction Director you'll be responsible for identifying and mitigating all contractual, commercial, technical, and technological risk to the business throughout the preconstruction stage, knowing when to escalate/engage with the Robertson Construction Group Board on key decisions, risk and issues.


  • Ensure the business complies with legislative requirements as part of the CDM Regulations during preconstruction activities
  • Ensure the RCG Project Lifecycle process and associated procedures and activities are being followed /managed during preconstruction
  • Responsible for obtaining necessary approvals and consents from the RCG Construction Executive and Group Board in line with the project lifecycle and business authority matrix
  • In conjunction with Major Projects Leadership Team and RCG Board, produce/set the business strategy in relation to customers, sectors and projects and presenting for incorporation into the business plan
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of opportunities on our CRM platform
  • Challenge and coach the team members in support of quality outcomes

What you'll need

:


  • Complimentary relevant industrial experience with a construction related academic qualification
  • Experience of the construction / Infrastructure sector, and an understanding of both business development and bid management
  • Possesses and applies broad knowledge of wider disciplines associated with successful Preconstruction delivery including, estimating, design, planning, SHE, quality, and commercial
  • Possess the skills required to build and lead geographically dispersed, multidisciplined bid teams, using and fostering the talents of each team member
  • Can demonstrate flexibility and resilience, adapting quickly to changing circumstances while keeping the team focused on the goals and deliverables
  • Strong leadership and communication skills enabling effective decision making under pressure
  • Teambuilding, motivation, and development skills
  • Full driving licence

Desired but not essential

  • Degree qualified
  • Membership of CIOB
  • Working knowledge of Passivhaus
  • Awareness/knowledge of emerging Net Zero and decarbonisation industry requirements and solutions
  • Good awareness of Modern Methods of Construction (as per Cast Consultancy industry definitions)
  • Membership of, or working towards, a related professional body at 'affiliate / associate' level, or equivalent
