The Department
The Dentons UK Tax practice is a multi-disciplinary transactional and advisory team that fully understands how tax law meshes and underpins other areas of the law — corporate, finance, funds, real estate, and litigation, to name a few and how this knowledge and expertise assists our clients.
You will be joining a focused yet friendly team, who work with a wide variety of clients including private institutions, listed and multinational companies, financial institutions, investment funds, blue-chip corporates, and high net-worth clients.
The practice's client base spans many key industry sectors; Private Equity, Finance, Insurance, Energy, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Technology, on a national, European and international basis; the majority of our matters have an international element.
The Dentons UK Tax Practice is part of the Dentons Global Tax Practice which has 350 tax professionals in 75 jurisdictions.
The Role
- We are committed to training and supporting you to enable you to be the best tax lawyer you can.
- We are not simply a transaction support department and you will be working, and taking a lead, on a variety of market leading international and UK projects.
- You will gain experience of a range of transactions including private equity, structured finance (including securitisations), real estate, banking (including real estate finance), commercial and general tax advisory.
- We are committed to flexible working, partly at home and in the office.
Required experience, skills, and attributes
- You will have trained with a recognised legal firm or inhouse team and will have exposure to tax advisory work.
- A solid legal background.
- Ability to work with a degree of independence.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Expert drafting skills.
- Exemplary legal research ability.
- Positive approach with a good work ethic and genuine enthusiasm for Tax issues.
- Good academic results, including at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent from a major University.
- The ability to take responsibility to maintain your own workload, with attention to detail.
- Committed to developing your own career.
- Extensive team and client management skills.
- A desire to get involved with business development.
