JOB OVERVIEW


The purpose of the role is to support the Administration Manager with the delivery of an efficient academic admin and student-focused support service.

This support includes and is not limited to reception, induction and registration, academic administrationand general admin support to students and the academic team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing a consistent, accurate and friendly customer reception service to visitors, students and staff, identifying problems which lead to poor service and contributing to reviewing the quality of service provided.
  • Filtering student enquiries, directing them appropriately within the ISC to the Leadership team, Academic staff and the Student Experience Team.
  • Participating in centre events and activities including registration, arrivals, induction and assessment periods.
  • Supporting the Student Experience Team during peak periods in the academic calendar and with the workload.
  • Dealing with students' daytoday administrative needs.
  • Working with the Student Data Specialist to maintain, monitor and report on attendance records.
  • Collating and entering data, including updating spreadsheets and databases and extracting data for reporting.
  • Supporting the Academic and Quality Officer with the administration of quality processes including assessments, extenuating circumstances and academic integrity.
  • Assisting with timetabling administration.
  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of students with whom you come into contact.
  • Fostering productive relationships with the student body and members of staff.
  • To assist with providing administration cover for staff absence and during peak periods.
  • To represent the Student Experience Team on ISC committees, as appropriate.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Administration Manager.
  • Assisting with the organisation, promotion and delivery of social events for students.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Working in an administrative role (Essentia)
  • Working with international students (Desirable)
  • Working in a Higher Education or Further Education environment (Desirable)
  • Using data management systems (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular, intermediate Word and Excel skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Working under pressure and to deadlines
  • Experience in using a variety of IT platforms/software such as Moodle, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience in academic timetabling (Desirable)
