- Our assets are many, varied and vital. To achieve our goals of being a nation resilient to climate change and having healthy air, land and water, the assets we have in our Water, Land and Biodiversity (WLB) function must be managed properly. This is where you come in. We need an Asset Management Officer to fulfil a challenging and busy role which is mostly deskbased but requires regular site visits to our assets in the field.
- Planning, scheduling and delivering actions from internal asset management plans ensuring assets are safe, operational, resilient and legally compliant.
- Supporting the management of asset maintenance, including defect management, maintenance contract coordination, and management of minor refurbishment projects.
- Supporting the maintenance of a consistent inventory of local assets, through the use of our Asset Management Information System (AIMS) database.
- Planning, scheduling, and managing delivery (through internal and external resource) of asset condition cataloguing, inspections, and assessments, ensuring data and information is recorded accurately.
- Supporting the delivery of the Public Safety Risk Assessment (PSRA), Assessment and Inspection programme.
- Leading on maintaining, inputting, and interpreting routine data on key systems.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team 1
- Reporting to the Team Leader of the WLB Asset Management team (covering Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire Area), you will also work with colleagues involved in asset management across multiple WLB teams (Area and National) and with asset teams from other functions as we journey towards integrated asset management.
There are a wide variety of assets within WLB, including pumping stations, gauging stations, a reservoir, boreholes, fishing platforms, pipelines and raingauges, providing water resource and recreational benefit.

- We're seeking someone who has:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to gather and maintain and data/information accurately and to interpret data.
- Asset management experience across any part of the asset management lifecycle.
- Experience in project management and/or engineering background
- Leadership skills
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve outcomes.
- An eye for detail, able to work efficiently and to persevere with tasks.
- Formal qualifications in asset management, data and information management and/or experience of undertaking works in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
