Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Data Buyer to join our dynamic Global procurement team. In this role, you will have the chance to explore a new category that plays a crucial role in the products and services we offer to our clients.
As a Senior Data Buyer, you will be immersed in a rapidly evolving landscape, collaborating with various business sectors to devise and execute procurement strategies aimed at acquiring new data sources and enhancing existing ones. This position calls for a fresh approach, demanding creativity in both commercial and technical aspects, while upholding the highest standards of procurement practices. You will collaborate closely with Business Units and the Data Office to craft procurement strategies aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the Business Units and Data Office to develop procurement strategies that support the company's strategic goals
• Conduct in-depth research on the category and market to offer valuable insights on Data acquisition
• Plan and negotiate new and renewed data acquisitions to ensure cost-effectiveness, risk mitigation, and alignment with business requirements
• Lead RFx and e-auctions as necessary
• Engage in global initiatives to share and leverage knowledge from different regions
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Proven experience in engaging in intricate and high-profile negotiations with vendors, with a talent for challenging and influencing ideas
• Strong communication skills and the ability to proactively influence internal clients and stakeholders
• Capability to challenge conventional commercial frameworks to drive innovation in data utilization and benefits
• Excellent analytical and research skills for bid management, market scrutiny, and expenditure analysis
• While not obligatory, IT procurement experience would be advantageous
• A keenness for learning and taking initiative
• Proficiency in engaging with diverse stakeholders to drive influence and constructive discussions
• Familiarity with UK legislation, including GDPR, is preferred
• Currently studying or willing to pursue CIPS certification
