An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bright Lives Wellbeing Coaching Service to join our team as a Wellbeing Coach providing early intervention and support for adults in Islington.

Are you an experienced therapeutic practitioner, looking for a new opportunity to support the wellbeing and resilience of vulnerable adults?

  • Do you have a proven track record of navigating risk and complexity to produce positive outcomes for vulnerable adults?
  • Are you dedicated to supporting vulnerable residents and making a meaningful difference to someone's life by helping them achieve goals and overcome adversity?
  • Are you experienced in the delivery of early intervention and prevention, to support people to access the right support at the right time before they reach crisis?
  • Do you have the skills and drive to contribute to the ongoing development of an exciting and innovative 11 wellbeing Coaching service?


Bright Lives Wellbeing Coaches provide one-to-one therapeutic Coaching, as a medium-term intervention for adults who do not meet the threshold for statutory services; are facing complex and multiple needs/challenges and require support to build resilience to strengthen independence and wellbeing.

This could be someone who has significant challenges exacerbated by risky behaviours or mental health needs and requires a structured and therapeutic intervention skilfully navigated to reduce risk and improve wellbeing through effective goal setting.

Bright Lives Coaches provide dedicated 1-1 tailored support for adult residents in Islington.

They support the resident to explore and plan long term outcomes, taking an integrated and collaborative approach to enable residents to improve and strengthen their wellbeing, independence and resilience.


Bright Lives Coaches are responsible for supporting service users to build individual and community capacity and resilience through providing practical medium-term support leading to positive long-term outcomes and sustainable change.


You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of vulnerable residents and assist residents and their families/carers to develop and utilise personal and local community networks to develop practical solutions to meet their aspirations and needs.


You will support and enable vulnerable residents to clarify their goals, strengths and needs to implement a plan to build resilience and pursue long term sustainable outcomes and maintain an ongoing focus on any escalation in risk and/or need with particular emphasis on safeguarding.


  • Build and maintain an effective working relationship with vulnerable residents who meet the criteria for coaching support and intervention;
  • Adults living in Islington over the age of 1
  • Do not meet a threshold for a statutory service
  • Facing complex and multiple needs/challenges including issues relating to disability, mental health and ageing
  • Require support to build resilience to strengthen independence and wellbeing
  • Require medium term coaching support i.e. 612 months
  • Require advisory, support, signposting and guidance within the community to access a variety of supported services.
Contribute to and support the ongoing development and delivery of the Community Engagement and Wellbeing department and the vision of Fairer Together:

  • Demonstrating and ensuring wider commitment to the principles of Fairer Together
  • multi-agency integrated partnership working, early intervention and prevention, strength-based practice, and co-production with communities and service users to deliver services that improve experiences and outcomes for local residents.
  • Supporting the leadership and wider team to promote the vision and principles of Fairer Together to staff, partners and communities adopting a creative, solution focused approach to overcoming obstacles and challenges and ensuring that the vision and ambition of the department is delivered in practice.
Support and enable vulnerable residents to clarify their goals, strengths and needs to implement a plan to build resilience and pursue long term sustainable outcomes to:

  • Taking a strengths based, relational approach, explore and plan long-term outcomes, built around what a good quality of life looks like to the person, and how best to mobilise the resources needed with the personal and community assets available to them.
  • Develop a shared understanding of the issues and needs with the individual and professionals involved in their life to work towards agreed outcomes, in line with the Coaching service and offer.
