We are recruiting for a PE Teacher to join a Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' secondary school in Brent, North West London for April 2023.

They ideally would like the PE Teacher to start in April 2023 but open to hold out until September 2023 if you are availablethen.


The School


The school have recently moved into their new, bright and airy building, which features a new library and a dining hall opening onto a courtyard, along with modern classrooms, a 5-court sports hall and a sixth form common room and study space.

Outside, staffand students will benefit from a new all-weather pitch for sports like football, hockey, rugby and cricket and a multi-use games area for sports like basketball, netball and mini-tennis.


The PE department is a friendly and vibrant environment which has a common culture of wanting students to learn but in a fun and creative way.

Job Description_


A PE Teacher / Physical Education Teacher is responsible for teaching physical education and sports to students within a secondary school setting.

Their duties include planning and leading PE Lessons, getting students to compete in sporting events and evaluatingtheir performance.

PE Teachers are also responsible for advancing their students' physical ability and knowledge of sports.

This includes being responsible for the welfare of their students and for ensuring that students can gain the qualifications they need to advance theireducation or their desired career paths after school.


Their key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 PE theory and practical lessons (with an option to teach KS5)
  • Supervising practical PE lessons, including both indoor and outdoor classes
  • Ensuring that children compete to their ability level and aren't exposed to unnecessary injury or illness through school sports
  • Motivating students to take up new sports or athletic pursuits
  • Evaluating the performance of students throughout the school year
  • Training and coaching school sports teams to compete and succeed in nationwide events
  • Transporting individual competitors, school teams and other teachers to and from school sporting events
  • Ensuring that students pass their practical and theoretical PE exams
