WHAT TO EXPECT
This position is within the Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) Domain of the Digital Platform Technical Centre within Product Engineering.


EDS along with the whole of Product Engineering, is transitioning to operate within an Agile operating model, and this role will be important part of EDS Agile structure.


As an EDS Power Distribution Boxes Product Owner you'll be leading teams (squads) that specify, engineer and deliver EDS power distribution boxes which includes 12v, 48v and HV power distribution boxes and subcomponents across all our platforms and car lines, meeting defined targets and attributes (technical and commercial - on cost, quality and time).

You'll also be accountable for the execution of all process activities (including supplier sourcing) to the programme at all relevant gateways.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a clear strategy for EDS power distribution boxes to ensure that it is clearly understood within EDS domain and across all areas of the business from Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Programme teams.
  • Work with relevant business groups to set and follow functional safety requirements within overall power distribution system for EDS power distribution boxes and subcomponents.
  • Work across relevant areas of the EDS Domain & Digital Product Platform & Vehicle Engineering, building strong relationships with other COC's.
  • Be involved with the development and execution of the EDS end to end delivery process from concept to delivery in line with the Commodity Strategy & North Star principles.
  • Lead the development of strategic power distribution boxes and subcomponents utilised within our vehicle range of current and future programmes and support new electrical architecture development activities as one of key contributors.
  • Support Group Product Owner for quarterly & annual business reviews

WHAT YOU NEED

Essential:


  • Detailed awareness and practice of operating in an agile framework
  • Confident communicator, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners at all levels of an internal and external organisation
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team through transformation and high performance
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to recognise, track and articulate the cost drivers, with the ability to hold functions to account on the costs impacting a system design
  • Strong financial control and management of budgets for resource and investment (e.g., tooling)
  • Strategic thinking with regards to supplier sourcing, with industry insight and capable of delivering this strategy through all phases of the sourcing process
  • Experienced in program and project management of complex technical systems into production
  • Experienced in managing teams in the use of appropriate problemsolving tools and techniques, design verification approach, failure mode avoidance processes, DFMEA, 8D, engineering release processes and gateway reporting

Desirable:


  • Operated as a Product Owner within an Agile framework
  • Electrical Distributions Systems attributes knowledge (Logical, Physical and Analytical)
  • Demonstrable evidence of successful program delivery including delivering multiple largescale programmes concurrently
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring components, power distribution boxes, relays, fuses, circuit breakers, PCBs and solid state components.
  • Experience of fusing strategy, circuit protection and power distribution system design
  • Understanding of EDS and EDS Power Distribution Boxes standards, requirements and implications on the designs
