Working within JLR-s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team you will be coordinating the activities of your teamwithin the Paint Operations department
- you'll have delegated responsibility for work allocation, manning, quality, problemdiagnosis and resolution. As a Group Leader in a world class painting facility, you'll be responsible for the training and continuous improvement of the team in order to achieve the highest standards. You'll ensure the alignment of all Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing processes within your area to deliver optimum quality to our customers.

Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining Standardised Work Confirmation (SWC), CCAR problem solving and OPR reviews.

You'll be expected to track and report the areas data against agreed metrics ensuring team targets are shared and achieved to meet customer expectations.

You'll ensure your area complies with all health and safety procedures, completing daily personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety checks.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Provide support to the team in production to ensure scorecard metrics such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost,Morale and Environment are met

  • Support the resolution of technical issues relating to Production and escalate where necessaryMaintain site specific working practices such as Work Element Sheet (WES), Step Repairs, Master Schedule, 5s,Automated Issues Management System (AIMS)Compliance to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training
  • Work on internal and external quality metrics and develop action plans for the continuing achievement and
maintenance of quality standards
Maintain department records for audit purposes and to be the main point of contact for all relevant auditing processConduct and assure regular maintenance of production tools and equipment according to the schedule and optimise when appropriate to improve work group production efficiency

  • Develop, document and assure standardised work and stable production processes according to standard operating procedures

WHAT YOU-LL NEED

  • Previous experience in a similar role in Manufacturing in a large company
  • Ability to solve problems and naturally strive for continuous improvement
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering safety metrics
Relevant indentured or advanced modern apprenticeship or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures & deliverables
  • Ability to coordinate and motivate a team
  • Experience of generating and delivering team briefs would be desirable
