Rangeford Villages provides a new approach to retirement living.

We provide accommodation to anyone aged 60+, in a welcoming community and an enviable location in the lively and picturesque village of Pickering, with its independent shops and historic attractions at the gateway to the North York Moors.


Our village is modern and spacious, with a cheerful atmosphere that enables residents to live as independently as they desire in their own homes.


As part of the Rangeford Villages group, Mickle Hill Integrated Retirement Community, is a beautiful, vibrant, retirement village just on the outskirts of the market town Pickering, Yorkshire.


Having taken over the management of the village from the Methodist Housing Association last year, we are now recruiting a Domestic Assistant/Cleaner to join our house keeping team on a permanent basis.

You will be working 20 hours per week on a seven day rolling rota. We are happy to discuss working arrangements with you.


As a member of the team, you'll be the key to making sure our guest rooms, public/social areas and resident apartments remain highly presentable at all times.


Responsibilities include:


  • To maintain cleanliness and general tidiness of bathrooms, offices and communal areas including carpet cleaning as designated by line manager
  • When working in residents homes, to respect their opinions, privacy and dignity of the person at all times
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment is used and maintained correctly and that it is stored in a safe and clean condition
  • Report any faulty equipment, defects or hazards in the Village to the line manager
  • Report any damage caused to furnishings, fittings, resident property or the structure of the building during the course of their duty to the line manager
  • Work to a rolling rota as required which will include some weekends
  • Assist with the induction of new staff, in accordance with the induction policy
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Understand and adhere to Control of Substances hazardous to Health regulations in accordance with the H&S manual including keeping adequate supply of cleaning materials and ensuring they are used and stored safely
  • Attend and participate in regular 1.2.1's and appraisals

Working conditions
This position will involve working weekdays and weekends on a rota basis. Flexibility is key especially over holiday/sickness /absence cover periods.
