The Company


REED Engineering are currently working with one of our long-standing Engineering clients who are specialists within the design and manufacture of bespoke industrial equipment to various sectors such as Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and more.

Due to growth, they are currently seeking to employ an Assistant project manager.


The Role


As Press Operator/Setter, you will join a busy production team and will be required to use existing knowledge and experience of press operation and setting to produce industrial equipment as directed by the Production Supervisor.


Responsibilities

  • Operation of press machines
  • To manufacture Elfin components in line with agreed customer delivery dates.
  • Ensure that the company's procedures are followed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Comply strictly with the company health and safety policy.
  • Carry out Elfin Operations as directed by Production Controller
  • Ensure workmanship is to the required standard
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives & process
  • Ensure that all relevant equipment used is fit for purpose and operated safely
  • Be effective with your own safety practices and adhere to the Company Health and Safety policy
  • Participate in the Quality control processes relevant to the work you carry out. Ensure all defective work is immediately brought to the attention of the Production Supervisor

Working Hours:

371⁄2 per week - 2 shifts available:
Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm

OR

Monday - Friday - 10am - 6pm


Person Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a press operator/setter in the manufacturing industry
  • Existing knowledge and skills of operating and setting press machinery.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to: solve problems, work under pressure, prioritise.
  • Must be able to work under your own initiative, but also to work as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills
