    Description

    Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit 4 x Senior Planners for initial 6 month contracts with option to extend for a further 6 months on a salary of £40,797-£47,477/annum, generous holidays entitlement.

    These roles will be hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week.


    Responsibilities:

    • Providing expert technical planning and development advice to colleagues, management and clients, both internally and externally, especially for complex applications and projects
    • Prioritising and processing a demanding and varied workload covering preapplication discussion, range of development applications, leading on appeals and liaising with colleagues in delivering the Development Management function
    • Supporting delivery of service improvement through innovative procedures and input towards interpreting and meeting corporate and national targets for service delivery
    • Supporting the wider operation of the Planning Service through delivery of uptodate development plan coverage for the city, supporting priority regeneration areas of the city and implementing actions as defined by the Enforcement Charter
    • Preparing reports for committee
    • Progressing innovative projects that facilitate development on the ground.
    Good decision making, negotiation and problem-solving skills
    • Experience of delivering within the Scottish/UK planning system effectively
    • An understanding of policy issues and implications within Scotland/UK
    • Project planning knowledge or experience
    • The ability to work alone and as an effective team member.
