Description
The Materials Innovation Factory is a unique facility designed to accelerate the discovery of new functional materials.

A significant element of the institute, designed to achieve this aim, is our shared laboratory space; making over £10M of state of the art equipment available to both our academic and industrial client base.


A particular focus is the use of bespoke robotic technologies to provide benefit, not just in the increased speed of our user¿s experiments, but by also improving the reliability and reproducibility of resultant data.

The purpose of this role is to ensure our robotic platforms meet the needs of a dynamic and vibrant research community.

This will require practical, hands on, problem solving allied with an ability to understand and react to our customer¿s needs.

In addition to maintaining and developing our robotic platforms it is also important to be able to guide users on how they can make the most effective use of this technology.


You should have a BTEC Higher Level (or equivalent) with formal training in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, and proven experience in both operating and maintaining complex scientific instrumentation within a laboratory environment.
