Full Time Hours - 12 Month Contract

The Opportunity
To support Lancashire Cricket to manage reports of discrimination within the County. This will include matters that require investigation, early intervention or other suitable remedies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for Lancashire Cricket on discrimination matters.
  • Support Lancashire Cricket to effectively manage cases of discrimination which may include investigation, early intervention, or other suitable remedies.
  • Support Lancashire Cricket and associated leagues to understand and implement and enforce the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) Antidiscrimination code (ADC) and help them move towards best practice in responding and managing cases of discrimination.
  • Strategic liaison with Board Equality Leads, safeguarding officers, Club chairs, league chairs and Lead Officer to ensure consistent standards across the County.
  • Liaise with third party resources to provide highest standards of customer service to those reporting discrimination within participating Counties.
  • Provide consistent guidance, advice, and training on discrimination matters.
  • Provide feedback on performance and progress on agreed action plans following investigations of cases of discrimination.
  • Identify and respond to potential gaps in discipline and discrimination processes that could be a risk to Lancashire cricket.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with ECB Anti-Discrimination Unit and recreational Discipline manager.
  • Build relationships with Leagues and competitions within Lancashire and support them on management of discipline cases that involve discrimination.
  • Lead on Lancashire's implementation of digital solutions to ensure ECB has a game wide view of discrimination.
  • Promote consistent and clear messaging around EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) for Lancashire Cricket
  • Implement local solutions that improve a complainant's experience of reporting discrimination.
  • Monitor trends and themes and report into the ECB to ensure best practice is shared across the game.
  • Attend Training and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) events where required.
  • To upskill, develop and support the Officers of County Boards

You will need:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • An accredited investigator having worked within a similar environment, law enforcement or private sector.
  • Ability to deliver operationally.
  • Able to manage change positively whilst under pressure.
  • Effective influencing, negotiation, and conflict management skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise.
Knowledge

  • Current knowledge of the structure of the recreational game
  • Recreational cricket discipline matters and legislation
  • How to engage with, and motivate, volunteers in sport
Experience

  • Working within cricket or a similar environment
  • Delivering training to adults and young people
  • Successful collaboration with external organisations
  • Delivering innovative solutions
