Plater Welder

Ilkeston

£30,500 per year (for 39-hour week) + Overtime and great benefits package


This is a great opportunity to join an award-winning business who've been around for almost 40 years, and who are constantly evolving their engineering abilities.

With an ability to provide a full turn-key service, or bespoke designs and items, they've shown impressive growth over the last decade.


The Role

Based at their impressive Ilkeston facility you'll be plating and welding a range of large and small assemblies with the aid of engineering drawings.


  • Utilising predominantly MIG, there may be the occasional need for TIG, so ideally, you'll be proficient in MIG and capable in TIG.
  • This is generally the heavier end of engineering, so you'll need to be familiar with this, as opposed to light gauge welding.
  • You'll be involved in the manufacture of these large units and ensuring they are made to the right quality and on time.
  • This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday on days.

The Person
You'll obviously need certain things in your locker to be considered, which includes:

  • Being a suitably qualified and experienced Plater Welder
  • Being proficient with MIG welding and some TIG experience
  • Having experience of the heavier end of engineering
  • Being able to work from engineering drawings
  • Being happy with working on the shop floor, and liaising with other manufacturing staff.
  • Being able to work alone or as part of a team
