Main Purpose of Job:


Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product meets the required specification before moving to the next part of the process or being released to the customer.

Has the ability to respond to the needs of the business and embrace change. Heavily involved in Teamwork, Housekeeping, and Continuous Improvement.


Key Tasks and Accountabilities:


  • Dimensional Inspection of all products (Rings and Forgings at a forged and as a COS state).
  • Has experience and the ability to use different metrology instruments (Gauges) this may include
  • Romer, Faro arms and CMM equipment if trained.
  • Visual inspection of product for damage or any other visual defects.
  • Support APQP activity including PFMEA, FAIR, PPAP
  • Record any issues via the nonconformance process and perform the required Tropos booking.
  • Split route cards as necessary.
  • Move completed product onto the next process as necessary, and ensure product is stored in a safe manner.
  • Control of route cards to follow the product.
  • Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures
  • Methods of Manufacture.
  • Practice and enforce a high standard of Health and Safety at all times.
  • Complete shift report at the end of each shift.
  • Daily inspection and maintenance of inspectors FLT.
  • During times when there is no management presence, responsible for making sound business decisions and escalating to management.
  • Redeployment to alternative work if required.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the area to a high standard and embrace the 5s programme on a daily basis
  • Any other adhoc duties as required

Experience and Qualifications

  • FLT licence essential
  • Crane license essential
  • Computer literate
  • Previous inspection experience an advantage

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£13.58-£16.39 per hour
