The Slinger role is based within our Marine Engineering & Systems business area

At our site in Rosyth, we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our engineering, specialised manufacturing, gas handling systems and naval marine businesses


The role

The difference our new Slinger will make
As a Slinger you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working with a range of lifting and transport equipment including mobile cranes, overhead travelling cranes, forklift trucks, SPMT's and mechanical handling equipment


Day to day, you'll lifting & turning of plates, units & equipment, daily routine maintenance checks including pre / post use checks of lifting equipment, general slinging & transportation tasks, forklift / side loader / telehandler / SPMT driving, operation of MEWPS and assisting with planning and organising operational activities, liaising with relevant centres and sub-contractors where necessary.

Essential experience

  • Experience in slinging / rigging with the use of a range of equipment. (Plate / bulbar / beam clamps, magnets etc.)
  • Recognised slinger signaller qualification
  • Min NVQ2 or equivalent
  • Standard driving Licence
  • Forklift / side loader driving certificates
  • OHT Crane Certificates (Desirable but not essential)
  • MEWPS (mobile elevated working platforms) operational Training, IPAF (Desirable but not essential)
  • Obtain or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
