Description
We are looking to appoint a Part time (22.5 hours per week)Ward Administrator to support the ward.


You will have good administrative and IT skills, and experience of working with various IT systems and databases and be able to develop processes to strengthen the service and improve the patient experience.

Previous administrative experience is essential, ideally within a hospital/healthcare environment.


To provide support to the ward / department manager so that effective, efficient administrative service is provided for the ward.


To contribute to the efficient management of the ward environment in order to enhance the experience for patients in the hospital by supporting the ward manager with administrative duties essential to the smooth running of the ward.

To contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of teams in which you work.

To be an effective member of a multidisciplinary team under the direction and supervision of the Ward clerk Team leader


The post holder may be required to cover other areas in the event of holiday, sickness or other extenuating circumstance as directed by Ward Manager and / or lead Nurse.

At no time should the post holder work outside their defined level of competence. If the post holder has concerns regarding this they should immediately discuss this with their manager/supervisor/consultant.

The post holder has the responsibility to inform those supervising their duties if they are not competent to perform a duty.

Responsible for ensuring the administrative and clerical work related to patient care are competently managed.

Ensure that all paper and computer stored data surrounding a patient episode is completed accurately and promptly.

To deal efficiently and in professional manner enquires from both patients and staff internally and externally.
