Job Description:


  • The Controls and Policy Principal is a key delivery partner to ensure that projects within the Beyond Finance Programme enable achievement and sustainability of compliance with regulatory and groupwide obligations.
  • Assess the controls and policy impact of proposed transformation projects.
  • Advise Project Managers, together with the Business Integration Lead, in shaping transformation projects to ensure they meet the Programme's compliance objectives in a timely and sustainable manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the control and policy standards for the programme duration
  • Establish and operationalise governance mechanisms for the management of control and policy standards for programme duration
  • Assess the impact of transformation projects on the controls and policy standards; and ensure changes are affected as needed
  • Secure resources were needed for significant scale changes and policy drafting as required and manage the quality of service delivery
  • Oversee the definition of a Programme controls and policy assurance framework to ensure that projects enable achievement and sustainability of compliance with regulatory and groupwide obligations
  • Resource and oversee relevant assurance activities
  • Participate in significant stagegate assessments for all projects with a high degree of process and technology change
  • Qualifications
  • Professional designation (CPA or CA) required.
  • Prior senior management role within in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Environment i.e. within a SOX registrant; or as Audit or Advisory professional to SOX registrants.
  • Experience of successful implementation of strategy/projects.
  • Experience in leading high performing virtual teams.
  • Experience in a global/ multinational, vertically integrated group of companies of similar complexity.
  • Strong supplier management experience.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Expert ability to draw conclusions on the overall effectiveness of the system of financial control and to derive learning from control incidents, audit findings and financial reporting errors.
  • Excellent programme management skillsets: organisation, communication, reporting, risk and issue management, financial management.
