To support our existing business and enable future growth we are seeking an Industrial Placement student to join our Quality team for our Joint Venture company, Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd.

on a 12-month placement commencing in Sept 23.


Primary Responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting the Quality Team in the resolution of customer complaints, issues and concerns through reporting, containment, identifying root causes, generating solutions using modern problemsolving tools
  • Collating key metrics and performance indicator measures to support the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Assisting in the management of internal deviations and nonconformances by ensuring changes are controlled, risks are assessed and corrective actions are driven through to completion
  • Working with other disciplines to review and where appropriate standardise procedures to include adherence to contractual requirements and processes and alignment with updates to internal and external standards
  • Gain understanding of Cloud Suite International enterprise resource planning system with regards to its use in the Quality function
  • Maintaining the GMP [Good Manufacturing Practice] audits and schedule and following up with functional team leaders regarding the closeout of any actions.
  • Working with the Engineering team to develop a replacement system to fully control product being used for investigation and improvement activities
  • Working with the Japanese Quality team to overcome the blockers to fully utilising CSI (Cloud suite international) for control of customer complaints and investigations(MMR)
  • Supporting the quality engineer in review and implementation of forms and templates migrating where required from the parent companies to Silicon Sensing formats in support of the BMS and legal compliance

Skills and Experience Required:


  • A team player and effective communicator
  • Able to multitask and prioritise own work
  • Happy working on your own initiative and as part of a small team
