Rotherham Music is responsible for the delivery of high-quality music services across the borough, from teaching in schools, encompassing whole class teaching, small group and individual tuition, and ensembles to adult learning, community engagement programmes and collaborative programming across events and venues throughout the borough.

The service also acts as the Lead Partner for the Arts Council funded Rotherham Music Education Hub, working with partners regionally and nationally to deliver high quality music education and experiences for 5-to-18-year-olds.


In 2025 Rotherham will become the world's first Children's Capital of Culture, designed, and delivered by children and young people aged 0-to-25 from across Rotherham.

2025 will see a 365-day festival of culture, creativity and community come to the borough - and the journey towards becoming Children's Capital of Culture has already begun.

Rotherham Music and the Children's Capital of Culture team have developed a close working partnership over the previous 10 months, including successfully working together on projects such as Signals Festival 2023,


UPLIFT:
Rotherham Skate and Arts Festival, One Voice, WOW Rotherham, and others.


We are looking to capitalise on this relationship by appointing a Marketing and Events Assistant to work across both service areas.


The role will focus on promoting the work of Rotherham Music and their collaborative projects with Children's Capital of Culture and associated partners to an external audience to build audience engagement and increase business opportunities for the service.

Rotherham Music is currently at the start of a growth period, including building up towards delivery of Children's Capital of Culture in 2025.

The role will focus on social media strategy and promoting events and products through a range of innovative and agile communications, PR and marketing channels and strategies.


You will report to the Community Music Manager based at Rotherham Music but will have a shared role across both services.


We are looking for somebody with:
Proven experience in creating social media strategies

Knowledge and experience of promoting events and products both online and physical campaigns.

Up-to-date knowledge of innovative and agile communications, PR and marketing strategies

Experience of developing content for a diverse range of audiences, and a good understanding of events practise

Experience on gathering feedback on campaigns and events and using it to shape future work
