An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated teams on Short Stay Unit (SSU) at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.
You must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and be enthusiastic and passionate about delivery of high quality care.
As a health care assistant within the team, your role will be assisting our patients with everyday tasks which involve maintaining a good oral intake, assisting with personal hygiene, and escorting patients to various procedures whilst also assisting both our medical and nursing teams deliver treatment.
The teams have patients which are referred from a variety of places including A&E, AMU, G.P and outpatient Clinics and are referred to the teams with a variety of health conditions, these can be Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Endocrine, Infectious diseases, Stroke and Cardiology.
Each team lends a fantastic place to learn and develop skills also to work alongside skilled health professionals who work within the multidisciplinary team.

Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting. Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding. Able to present factual information and refer questions to others where appropriate. Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy. An understanding of organisation of nursing care. Basic I.T. skills in E mail. Basic understanding of NHS issues. Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting. Carry out clinical interventions as delegated by a RN as agreed by local protocols.
