Job description

Estate Services is one of the most visible of our front-line services. With high levels of customer satisfaction we are anxious to continue with this success.

We are recruiting to one position to join with three existing members of the team working across the borough.

The Mobile Services team will play a major role in enhancing the weekly Caretaking services provided to residents by deep cleansing communal areas of our estates, both inside and outside of buildings, working to a schedule as well as carrying out reactive work.

Working under the supervision of a Senior Caretaker you will provide a high standard deep cleansing service using specialist hot water pressure washing, window cleaning, carpet washing and steam cleaning equipment in all areas of the Borough.

Your daily tasks will involve driving an Ealing Council vehicle, towing a trailer - which requires category B & E licences - and the use of specialist equipment in the course of performing your duties. Whilst a licence with the required categories is preferred, if you do not already have a vehicle licence enabling you to tow a trailer, you will be trained to do so to enable your licence to be upgraded.

The cleaning of bin rooms, chutes & other hard surface areas, communal windows, carpet washing, and steam cleaning of lift cars and are highly visible services and will make a real difference to the appearance of our estates and our resident's perception of them.

The job is a manual one and you need to be physically fit and prepared to work both inside and outside, mainly using water.

It is expected that any successful applicant will also provide cover for annual leave for other roles within Estate Services including cleaning blocks and clearing bulk refuse.

Working hours are strictly 35 hours per week, 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, though you will also work Saturday morning on a rota basis (finishing at noon on a Friday where you do so)

This position is currently open to internal and external applicants.
