    Description

    EMBS Engineering is working with a prestigious precision engineering client, located in Oxford who are looking to recruit a Metrology Technician on a permanent basis.

    Due to a departmental restructure it has created an opportunity for a Metrology / Quality Technician to join their existing team of talent engineers and develop their career further.

    This role will predominantly support the quality department with internal activities related to part inspection. You will prepare and record inspection reports and all related documentation in line with company requirements. As a Metrology Technician, you will also carry out manual inspection of components.

    This role would be ideal for engineers who have either just recently their apprenticeship, possess some quality experience but are looking to further develop their careers within a forward thinking business or for candidates who have 2-4 years experience working as a Metrology / Quality Technician / Inspector and are looking for their next challenge.


    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Using manual measuring equipment
    • Operating CMM machines
    • Record any non conformance of parts
    • Maintain accurate quality records

    Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

    • Minimum 2 years experience within a precision engineering environment
    • Confidence reading technical drawings
    • Worked with various materials including; aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron
    • Ability to manually measure parts using conventional equipment - shadowgraphs, verniers, micrometres etc
