Job Description:

Community Hub Manager - Maternity cover
Based at Foundation House
Up to 30 hours per week (hours can be negotiated)
£28k pro-rata

PURPOSE

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role works closely with the Grants Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to engage with the community.

Through proactive and positive management of a team, ensure the efficient running of Foundation House to maximise communityengagement and additional income.

Work alongside the team to manage projects run at Foundation House and explore potential new and exciting ways to engage the community both at Foundation House, and beyond.

Ensure Stratford Town Trust has the widest possibleview of the breadth of charities and community groups that exist within Stratford upon Avon and collaborate with these groups
Additional ad-hoc out of hours' cover - team holidays, evenings, and weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Foundation House

  • Manage and support a team who run Foundation House; Administrator & Deputy Manager.
  • Communicate updates from Foundation house to the wider team.
  • Work with the team and the Buildings & Facilities Manager to make sure that Foundation House operates as a safe community space for all users.
  • Support the team to promote the effective use of rooms and spaces to new and existing community users.
  • Ensure that Foundation House is a friendly, welcoming environment which responds sensitively and appropriately to the range of complex and challenging issues presented by some users.
  • Work with the Head of Finance to ensure that Foundation House operates within its agreed annual budget.
  • Direct groups to the grants team if funding may support their work.
  • Oversee contractual relationships with suppliers and thirdparty organisations.
  • Make sure that all activities held at Foundation House comply with appropriate Stratford Town Trust policies and procedures including financial and risk management, health, and safety, safeguarding, HR, GDPR, project management and evaluation processes,brand guidelines and respectful ways of working.
  • Ensure that Foundation House is seen as an exemplar in Community Hub activity drawing on awareness and best practice in similar schemes across the UK.

Community Outreach

  • Strengthen and develop links with the widest range of community groups to ensure that they can benefit from using Foundation House as their community hub.
  • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to explore opportunities across the town, including Foundation House.
  • Ensure community groups are aware of the work carried out by Stratford Town Trust specifically the grants available for groups to start projects, using Foundation House as a base.
  • Make sure that activity at Foundation House both influences and complements a wider network of communitybased provision across the town.
  • Work with the Communications Officer to share and celebrate activities at Foundation House on the website and social media.

Person Specification

  • Experience of delivering projects which benefit the community.
  • Excellent administrative and organisation skills.
  • Ability to lead a small team.
  • Resourceful and able to see the bigger picture.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Experience of community engagement.
  • Ability to work with other organisations, partners & stakeholders.
