    National Business Development Manager

    Do you have a proven track record in obtaining and maintaining long term key customers in the Arts & Crafts, Stationary and/or Toy space?

    Do you have extensive knowledge and experience in selling into key retail chains?

    Can you proactively manage allocated accounts in order to achieve objectives & targets set?

    Macgregor Black are partnering with a global market leading arts and crafts brand, on the search for a National Business Development Manager. This is permanent role based in London.

    As National Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving commercial performance within the Sales function. You will be a critical thinker who is dynamic and positive; your ideas and initiatives will contribute to the success of the team and the company. Excellent organisational, analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills are critical to the role. A previous experience with stationery and mass market channels, national and international accounts, and arts and crafts or toys products is required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implementing new ways to market.
    • Finding and developing new customers.
    • Identifying pockets of growth for our brands.
    • Embracing digital transformation.
    • Growing the sales and profitability of our channels.
    • Contributing, promoting and implementing the company's strategy and the routes to market to meet our targets and grow our market share on key brands.
    • Meeting customers to deliver impactful insight & analysis.
    • Collaboration internally to ensure smooth implementation of new customer accounts.
    • Maximising time spent with customers, ensuring leads are followed up promptly.
    • Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
    • Effective strategic planning and forecasting.
    • Negotiating customer pricing and trading terms and review ongoing in line with changing market conditions that impact costs.

    What are we looking for?

    • Proven track record at a national account sales level
    • Effective strategic planning and forecasting
    • Proven ability to generate profitable sales with a view on the long and short term
    • Entrepreneurial character with strong organisational and communication skills
    • Current working knowledge of key national retailers, for reference John Lewis, Argos, Currys, Very, Lakeland & Costco. DIY & Grocer experience is desirable.
    • Expertise within the electrical retail sector in the UK advantageous and an understanding of Premium brands is a clear benefit
    • Self-motivated and experienced professional with a hands-on personality
    • Flexibility for frequent travel and occasional international travels are required
