Street Cleansing Services is a key role within our Streetscene Team providing high quality, effective and consistent services to residents, businesses, and partners both internal and external.

The post is situated at 19 Bennet Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG2 0QX. 37 Hours per week (Mon-Fri but must be flexible to cover all service requirements).

About the role
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our comprehensive Street Cleansing Service.

This is a varied role where you will be working as part of a supportive team making a difference in keeping Reading clean, so if you enjoy primarily working outside, this is the job for you


Street Cleansing is one of our core service deliveries, and we are currently looking to recruit new members to the team.

A high degree of physical effort is required as part of this role which includes walking, lifting and handling along with the use of tools and equipment associated with the role.


You'll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability.

As well as the colleagues that you work closely with every day, you'll also be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.

About you
Specific requirements

  • Experience of using mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Experience of outdoor working in all types of weather.
  • Experience of safe handling and lifting.
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative as well as part of a team.
