Shift Pattern: 7am-1pm 1pm-7pm 7 days a week on a Two week rolling rota. _
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To be a proactive part of the kitchen to assist the chef in providing a high standard of freshly prepare meals and an efficient service at all times.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide an efficient and effective meal service to residents while understanding their needs and requirements and exceeding them wherever possible.
- Help with the preparation of high quality freshly prepared meals and baked goods along with generally assisting the chef as required.
- Be responsible for providing a daily breakfast service for residents.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept in efficient working order and any mechanical defects are reported to the house manager as soon as possible.
- Wash up, including operating the dishwashers and store items away.
- Assist with unpacking and storing deliveries of groceries.
- Answer the house telephone and take messages, when appropriate.
- Ensure that all communal parts of the house are clean and tidy.
- Wear appropriate PPE when required.
- Provide cover for holidays and sickness as required.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- To attend training courses and meetings as required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to demonstrate a flexible approach in the delivery of work.
- The post holder must be capable of lone working.
- The post holder may be required to perform duties not specifically identified in the job description, but which are commensurate with the general responsibilities of the post.
