We're looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Barnsley If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy providing excellent customer service, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Barnsley, clinic features 10 modern consulting rooms and four theatres, complete with X-ray and dental suites.

Dedicated to the well-being of our furry friends, we boast a separate dog and cat ward, proudly earning the title of a cat-friendly clinic.

Our caseload is as diverse as it gets, ranging from surgical and medical cases to in-house orthopaedic procedures.

We have recently introduced nurse-led care during the night. This ensures that our patients, in stable conditions, experience a comfortable and monitored recovery overnight in their kennels.

Common Duties Include

Welcoming clients and their pets for appointments and maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude at all times
Answering telephone calls/queries from clients
Handling medication prepared by the veterinary surgeon and handing to clients
Working within a team (and at times alone) to ensure the surgery's reception, waiting area and consultation rooms are maintained to a high standard of clinical cleanliness
Dealing with stressed or upset clients and connecting them to the appropriate teams where required
Taking payments, registering new clients and addressing client concerns
Organisation and restocking of the practice where required
Complying with all health and safety procedures
Complying with data protection legislation to ensure client and patient confidentiality is maintained at all times

Core Skills

Enthusiastic and motivated to provide a high level of customer service, while taking on a confident attitude
Strong organisation skills, open, honest and trustworthy
Pleasant manner, compassionate towards clients and pets
Strong communicator and able to confidently communicate with clients and staff of all levels (Vet Nurses, Vets and Directors)
IT Literature and a fast learner
Takes direction and can work from own initiative
Ability to work under pressure and in a fastpaced environment
Experience of a client/customerfacing role in a fastpaced environment essential
Willing to work unsociable hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
