Wrap-around Co-ordinator Education Lead

Do you have up to date knowledge of autism and neurodiversity, including a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by autistic people and their families?

Supported by the Hub Manager the post holder will work within a new team to provide high quality and easily accessible support to families and carers accessing the Autism Central programme from across the North East & Yorkshire.

Please note full training in the Autism Central model of support will be provided.

  • Salary£23,000 per annum (pro rata)_
  • Location The post will be based from home, but may be required to travel across the North East and Yorkshire_

Key Tasks

  • Provide 1:1 education, training and support to the parents and carers of autistic people.
  • Take the ln the development of learning workshops to be delivered virtually and face to face across the region
  • Maintain and develop an up to date knowledge of local service provision across the region for appropriate signposting and referrals.
  • Engage with families that are hard to reach/in crisis in order to ensure that they are able to access the support that they need.
  • Provide support and mentorship to Peer Educators working within the service which may include at times, supporting them to deliver group sessions.
  • Attend and complete Tier 1 and 2 Autism Central training.
  • Build and maintain positive, trustbased relationships with families and young people/adults, in order to identify the key issues which are relevant to them.
  • Contribute towards the protection of individuals from abuse by adhering to Daisy Chains Child and At-Risk Adults Safeguarding policies at all times.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained and that Daisy Chains GDPR Policy is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure effective and accurate recording and reporting systems in line with Daisy Chains procedures.
  • Undertake administrative tasks necessary for the efficient and effective delivery of the key responsibilities in this role.

  • Ability to travel and work across the North East & Yorkshire, providing services in the community where necessary.
  • Any other duties from time to time, commensurate with the level of the post.

  • Ability to communicate effectively around highly sensitive and complex cases with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying needs E
  • An ability to remain calm, objective and proactive when faced with complex cases, including safeguarding E
  • A thorough understanding of the challenges faced by autistic and neurodivergent individuals E

xcellent written and verbal communications skills E

xcellent listening skills and the ability to be sympathetic and discreet E

  • IT literate and able to use all appropriate software packages E
