We are looking to appoint 2 x part time Clerical Administrators (each 22.5 hours per week) to provide a comprehensive administration service to the Rheumatology Team based at St Helens Hospital where we have developed a Nurse Adviceline to enable the department to deliver timely, high quality personalised care in partnership with patients and carers.

You will foster a positive patient/user experience. Be efficient, patient centred and reliable.


There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you are able to work on your own initiative.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but full training will be given.

  • Inputting appointments from the nurse advice line
  • Potential to contact patients to arrange review call, following call to rheumatology advice line, and triaging by the nursing team
  • Printing and sending blood monitoring cards for the monitoring service to patients.
  • Retrieving and actioning messages for the blood monitoring clinic, including re arranging of appointments at patient/carers' request.
  • Accurate use of electronic information systems
  • Send correspondence from nursing team to patients and GPs.
  • Request blood results from GP surgeries as requested by the Rheumatology team.
  • Assist with the collect of date for 'open and honest' questionnaire.
  • General office duties including photocopying, ensure adequate stationary available, housekeeping in office area.
  • Any other identified duties, as the role and service develop, relevant to banding.
