Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Worker.
This role involves providing regular accredited and non-accredited activity sessions and programs designed to support and enhance the life chances, well-being, and personal development of children aged 8-12 years in Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver a range of engaging and ageappropriate activity sessions and programs for children aged 812 years
- Create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters positive relationships, personal growth, and development
- Support and encourage children to explore their interests, build resilience, and develop essential life skills
- Collaborate with other professionals and organizations to provide a comprehensive and holistic support network for children
- Assist in the assessment and evaluation of program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements
- Provide guidance and support to children, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
- Act as a positive role model, promoting positive behavior and values
- Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievements of the children
- Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians, providing regular updates and feedback on their child's participation and progress
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children aged 812 years, preferably in a youth work or similar setting
- Passion for supporting the wellbeing and development of children, with an understanding of the challenges they may face
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/guardians
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver engaging activity sessions and programs
- Knowledge of relevant accreditation frameworks and the ability to support children in achieving recognized qualifications
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to promote a safe and inclusive environment
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
