    University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

    The opportunity has arisen for a fixed-term role working in our department supporting paediatric audiology clinics and ENT.

    This could be an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to increase or consolidate their knowledge and skills in paediatric audiology assessment.


    We are a friendly team of Audiologists and Clinical scientists providing a high quality diagnostic and rehabilitation service for adults and children in Southampton and the surrounding area.

    This is a dynamic department constantly looking to improve the service we provide our patients and we're looking for someone who shares that ethos.

    We value staff development, and are a training centre for both the STP and HTS programmes.

    We are also involved in a number of research projects, both supporting external research and leading projects of our own.

    All non-clinical roles may involve a mixture of on site and remote working, Specific details and flexible working options can be discussed as part of the interview process.

    ResponsibilitiesYou will independently provide diagnostic hearing assessment for ENT patients, including adults and school age children.

    Working with one of our Clinical Scientists you will perform the role of '2nd tester' in paediatric audiology clinics, assisting with assessment and rehabilitation.


    What experience/skills are neededYou will need to have a BSc Audiology or equivalent qualification, and either hold state registration or be able to demonstrate eligibility and be in the process of applying.

    You will need experience of working independently in ENT clinics and some experience of working in paediatric audiology clinics.

    You must be able to travel independently to our clinic sites in Southampton and the New Forest.

    BSc Audiology or equivalent qualification
    Relevant clinical training in diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures for hearing services
    Holder of UK State Registration in Audiology (RCCP) OR able to demonstrate eligibility and in process of applying
    Experience of independently performing audiometry and tympanometry for an ENT clinic
    Experience working in paediatric audiology clinics

    Experience working in an acute hospital
    Experience assisting in vestibular clinics
    Participation in service improvement, development activities and audit/surveys
    Report writing
