Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our clients finance team.As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately maintaining the purchase ledger, processing invoices, reconciling statements, and dealing with supplier queries.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process purchase invoices and credit notes on a daily basis, ensuring that all invoices are correctly coded and authorised in accordance with the company's procedures and policies
- Reconcile supplier statements, investigate and resolve any discrepancies and liaise with suppliers to resolve queries
- Ensure that payments are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed payment terms
- Process employee expenses and ensure that these are correctly authorised and reimbursed
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems to ensure easy retrieval of information
- Liaise with other departments within the organisation to resolve any issues relating to purchase invoices or supplier payments
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a finance team is essential, with specific experience in purchase ledger administration
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with suppliers, colleagues and other stakeholders at all levels
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of accounting software, such as Sage or Xero, would be advantageous
