Permanent position working for a prominent international manufacturer of precision components for the aerospace and defence, marine, and powersectors.

A CNC Programmer is required within our Manufacturing department to create 3 and 5 axis CNC programmes and in accordance with the appropriate procedures, configure CNC Milling machines with the necessary work holding and tooling utilising Siemens NX UnigraphicsVersion 12.

Due to ongoing CNC expansion this client based in Derby requires a leading CNC programmer on a permanent basis.

As a CNC programmer, you will be required to:

Program and set 3 and 5 axis CNC milling machines.
Perform component measurement and inspections, understanding all set up parameter and what impact they have on procedures.
Read and comprehending CNC code at the level needed for machine setup and operation.
Efficiently complete the machining processes in line with Job Card's instructions.
Ability to read and understood all production instructions.
Ensure all documents needed to complete an operation in accordance with the Job Card is on hand.
Produce jigs and fixtures that facilitate the creation of prototype components.
Participate actively in the programmes for continuous improvement by making every effort to increase efficiency.

The CNC Programmer should have the following skills or experience:

Prior employment experience in the aerospace industry.
Preferably 3 years in a comparable position.
NX Unigraphics version 12 prior experience or equivalent 3D CAD/ CAM design knowledge is necessary.
Prior milling and turning experience, however milling experience is preferred.
Heidenhain conversational programming prior experience.
A good eye for detail is required.
Must be able to take a handson approach with both machine and team interaction, and must have the experience to do so.
Capable of creating running parts for development and production from drawings and models.
Possesses a bright outlook and is selfdriven.
