Finance Managers Job Purpose

  • This Finance Manager will analyse financial performance and support the Finance Controller with the accounting operations to ensure production of timely, accurate and relevant financial information.
  • This role involves combining both accounting and management and leadership skills.
  • The Finance Manager will support the development of plans for financial growth in accordance with companies rolling annual and 3 year business plan and budget process.

The Finance Managers Accountabilities will include:

Finance Team Accountabilities

  • Work collaboratively and crossfunctionally across the Finance team on all aspects of Finance to help in delivering the companies Vision.
  • Contribute to the development of a crossfunctional Finance team to ensure that all processes are completed timely and accurately.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the Finance team and across the business, as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the external customers and suppliers, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the Company maintains a consistent, transparent, legally compliant and ethical approach in all aspects of its business and day to day transactional operations.

Functional Accountabilities

  • Support the Financial Controller and the finance team with the execution of daily operational duties, particularly ensuring Revenue Recognition and Gross Margins are complete, accurate, and understood.
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller where necessary.
  • Complete the reconciliation of intercompany accounts and eliminations, various balance sheet accounts and the nominal ledger to trial balance.
  • Assist with the preparation of Accounts.
  • Preparation of the weekly, month end, Half Year and Year End reporting requirements, including entry into Group reporting systems (Cognos).
  • Prepare and submit UK VAT and overseas sales tax compliance, including monthly and periodic returns.
  • Support the Finance Controller with all statutory and reporting duties in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate working capital and cashflow analysis. Identify and highlight potential risks to the Company's financial position.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management Team to review performance against budget and prepare revised monthly forecasts, produce written reports and adhoc analysis and management information including cost
- variance analysis and stock reconciliations.

  • Lead finance system developments, process simplification and automation projects where appropriate.
  • Participate and support the financial controller with the finance team's training and development.

The Finance Manager will have the following skills, experience and qualifications

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a previous fast paced finance environment ideally within a manufacturing business.
  • Demonstrates good listening and communication skills.
  • Selfmotivated with strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • A team player with a friendly inclusive approach.


  • Competent IT Skills

  • Excellent Skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience in an ERP improvements plan, or implementation plan.
  • Experience in Balance Sheet Account Preparation.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Stock transactions.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Budgetary Principles.
  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Selfmotivated with drive and enthusiasm.
  • High energy and a cando attitude.
  • Results driven with demonstrable experience in working to tight deadlines, and building relationships.

What is on offer for the successful Finance Manager:

  • Salary is between £45,000 to £50,000 dependant on experience
