£32,000 - £35,000 - Band 2


Introduction
The Lord's Taverners exist to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality.

We work across the UK and beyond to provide inclusive and impactful cricket programmes, empowering young people with disabilities and from disadvantagedcommunities to develop the knowledge, skills, capabilities and confidence required to overcome the challenges of inequality, raise their aspirations and reach their potential.


Main Purpose of the Role


As part of the Charitable Programmes team, this role will be responsible for ensuring that the children and young people involved in our programmes have the opportunity to be engaged and heard at every level.

Their input will enable us to create and implementactivities that are relevant and delivered in a way that will enable us to empower young people through cricket.


Key tasks:


  • Drive our ambition to be a youth led charity developing our strategic plan for youth voice
  • Alongside our Programme Manager team lead on the implementation of a national youth board
  • Create opportunities to enable programme participants to have their voices heard at a local level and then feed into a national youth panel
  • Review, enhance and implement a Young Leaders programme with identified pathways and opportunities to engagement and coaching across our activities
  • Develop and manage partnerships and create resources leading to the highquality delivery of lifestyle workshops through weekly coaching sessions, residentials and competitions empowering young people to achieve their personal best
  • Work with Programme Managers to ensure the successful delivery of impactful social and/or personal development and employability workshops throughout our activities
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of a national coach / apprenticeship programme across our core programmes
  • Identify and develop opportunities to recruit and retain volunteers through the creation of a local coaching/support programme
  • Work with the Impact & Insight team to identify ways to measure the impact of youth engagement across the strategy

Person Specification

Essential:


  • Firm set of core values reflective of the Charity and commitment to the Charity's purposes
  • Experience of working in the area of youth engagement
  • Knowledge of the volunteer sector and working with partners
  • Experience of effective stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of creating and delivering complex social development activities
  • Excellent administrative, time management and planning skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent IT skills including working knowledge of Microsoft 36
  • Ability to both work as part of a team and on own initiative with a proactive, enthusiastic 'cando' attitude

Desired:


  • Understanding of social barriers to participation in sport, inclusion, equality, and diversity
  • Understanding impact and implementation of regional and national programmes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current employability and apprenticeships landscape
