    Description

    Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF) was founded in 2001 in the University of Cambridge with the formal objective to promote research within the University of Cambridge in all aspects of finance, financial institutions and financial markets, and their relationship with economic behaviour and performance.

    This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for an interesting and varied role within administration of academic institutions. The successful candidate will report to the Director and work closely with the Centre Manager of CERF. The administrator offers in addition to general daily administrative assistance also the main co-ordination of the activities of Cambridge Finance CERF and Cambridge Centre for Finance. The role includes general administration, event management, assisting in producing various written and financial reports, and updating and creating websites. The administrator will be responsible for liaising with a large number of senior academics in the University of Cambridge as well as in other academic and commercial institutions. The post is full-time, office-based.

    Candidates for this post should ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and have relevant experience from IT-intensive administrative posts. Suitable candidates must be flexible and confident with the ability to work independently and use own initiative. A high level of IT skills including experience with maintaining websites is expected. Organisational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to multi-task and to communicate at all levels are important for the role.
