A vacancy has arisen for a Market and Bus Station Attendant based at Blackburn Market. The role will include ensuring the cleanliness, safety and security of the Market and Bus Station. You would also be the first point of contact for traders and customers.


You will**:


  • Undertake cleaning duties dealing with waste removal, labouring and other designated duties.
  • Complete regular Health and Safety checks around the Market.
  • Have good verbal communication skills, to deal with enquiries and complaints. To provide support to the Market Supervisor and undertake any jobs that are requested.
  • Sweep, mop, clean floors and surfaces of the whole market and the cleaning of both trader and public toilets. Cleaning of a large food court.
  • Operate a scrubbing machine, power washer and steam cleaner.
  • Be a keyholder and have responsibility for opening and locking/securing the building.


We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and energetic person who likes to meet people from all walks of life.

The main job entails cleaning of the Market and Bus Station from the shop floor, traders and public toilets plus a very busy food court.


We are open 6 days a week and the 37 hours will be split over morning and evening shifts this also includes weekends.

We are looking for someone with a good sense of humour but is also hard working. We are a small team but we work hard to provide a clean and welcoming Market & Bus Station
